Getting Started

Who knew it would be so challenging to get services booked?  I suppose we thought that people would just say, "Oh sure come on in!"  We're working the system as fast and as hard as we can and really pray that God will open doors for us as we go.

To quote a wonderful man of God, Pastor Clay Glickert, who called itineration "a great purging".  What that means is that all of our ideas, expectations, and ways of doing things are not necessiarly God's.  He's taking all that we had in our heads and is turning it into what He has in His head and, really, wouldn't we rather have that as ours?

We know we have been called to the nations from before the foundation of the world.  God's ways are more than our ways and His thoughts more than our thoughts.  (Isaiah 55:9)  God told Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.  Before you were born I sanctified you.  I ordained you a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5)  That's what God has done for us.  He has called us, He has ordained us and He has gone before us in provision.

An Introduction

I suppose the first thing that we should do is talk about our call and what we are going to be doing next.

Mike and I have been called to serve the children of Scotland; to bring them the good news of Christ and to disciple them as they make their commitments to Him.  Our hearts are for the children and we are stepping forward on this path that the Lord has set before us with great excitement and, yes, a little trepidation.

Child's Faith is an unusual name I suppose, but Jesus said that a having the faith of a child is necessary for the Kingdom.  May we all approach our salvation with the wonder of a child.   Remember what you felt like when you made that step?  Remember the excitement and the joy that you felt?  That's what I think of when I read this passage.   Look at Luke Chapter 18:16-17, part of it is listed here on the blog.

We are just beginning on our journey and we know that the next few months will not be easy, but we look forward to them and every challenge that the Lord would lay on our paths.

Remember us in your prayers.  Remember us when you give to the Missions program at your church because as we are the hands and feet of Christ so we are your hands and feet as we go out.
